Caesar Salad

Per Wikipedia~A typical Caesar salad comprises romaine lettuce and croutons dressed with Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, olive oil, egg, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper originally prepared tableside. Cesar Cardini (Italian-born Mexican) is credited with creating the salad
Anchovy Paste

Apple Cider Vinegar, garlic, lemon juice, wooooosteshire (hehe), pepper, anchovy paste, salt, sugar, dry mustard, onion powder, egg yolks, olive oil, parm, romano and then whirl it in the food processor like you are swinging fat Betty during the church square dance.

Finished Product

Our eldest son's favorite salad is the Caesar. I like them....don't love them. I guess I am just not the BIGGEST fan of caesar dressing.....not even the "from scratch" version. I have always it still a Caesar Salad if I put ranch on it, or perhaps balsamic, or even a creamy dijon (I really like it with a creamy dijon dressing). I mean, if I use romaine hearts, croutons and shaved parm and then I put creamy dijon on it, what kind of salad is it then????? Something for one to ponder over.

Hey! It's nice to see you back. I waited tables for most of my life, and what I was told was that the dressing makes the Caesar salad a "Caesar" salad. Of course, that could have been some silly chef's rules. I don't migrate towards it myself, although I am quite the salad lover. I guess I just find better things in other salads. HOpe your son enjoyed the treat!
